08/12/08 - I have discovered that even though their are tons of people eating in the cafeteria, you can't always trust the food. My second full day here I woke up at night throwing up! Yuck! | Complete Olympics coverage | Olympics photo gallery

I have learned a new lesson: never eat pasta with a different kind of sauce. It has taken me about two days to bounce back from that, but I am finally feeling normal again. Yippee!

Things here are going good besides the food. I look forward to a hard workout on the track tomorrow morning. My coach gets into town tonight (Aug. 12) and I can't wait to see him tomorrow.

After my workout we are hitting the streets of Beijing. I will send photos of the outing. I am also really excited because I have finally conquered jet lag and am starting to feel like my old self again. I am actually staying awake for part of the day.

Tonight I plan to go watch my first athletic event: USA men's basketball. It should be awesome with the team they have assembled. GO USA!

We get free tickets for any event we want to go to, it is awesome. I wanted to go to women's gymnastics, however I had to practice. I will let everyone know tomorrow about the experience of the basketball game.

Tata for now,

Christin

Editor's note: Local Olympians Christin Wurth-Thomas (1,500-meter run) and Ogonna Nnamani (women's volleyball) have agreed to write a blog for pantagraph.com of their experiences during the Summer Games in Beijing. They will write periodically throughout the Games.
