Letters to the Editor

Keep eye on teens, even innocent-looking ones
Don’t fall for the excuses that your kids are too good to use or abuse alcohol, drugs and cigarettes or that they know it’s bad for them or all the other lines they give when you try to talk to them about these things.

Question statistics on children killed by guns
Sherina Wordlaw's letter about raising the price of bullets to lower gun violence uses flawed logic (YourViews, Nov. 13).

Renew licensing law for health inspectors
I am writing this correspondence to alert your readers about my concern as the public health officer for Tazewell County regarding the pending expiration of the Environmental Health Practitioner Licensing Act in Illinois.

Don't look now, but GOP race for 2012 already under way
Barack Obama hadn't even clinched the 2008 election when a prominent Republican pollster took soundings on his party's 2012 prospects. Neil Newhouse's survey produced a surprising result.
