There have been over 300 mass shootings in the U.S. since the beginning of this year. The most recent was the worst, with 58 people killed and almost 500 injured. Had the assault weapons ban still been in place, the shooter wouldn't have been able to acquire the semiautomatic weapons he used, let alone be able to modify them to machine-like gun.
We must do something! The NRA seems to have a strangle hold on our Congress. The NRA really represents gun manufacturers rather than gun owners as most gun owners support sensible gun regulations such as universal background checks, closing gun show loopholes and banning semiautomatic weapons. Please contact your congressman or woman and tell them we need sensible gun laws.
Second Ammendment rights do not trump our right to feel safe at concerts, sporting events, movie theaters or other outdoor gatherings.
