Once again, our community opened their hearts this holiday season to help area children and families in crisis by supporting two of Children’s Home + Aid’s important programs.
Our Adopt-A-Family program had a record 517 children and adults in need and our community “adopted” every last one of them. They made sure each had something to enjoy — staples like socks, shoes and a warm coat — under their tree. Our volunteers logged a whopping 900 hours, organizing, shopping or wrapped gifts!
Our community also ensured another successful year for our Stuff the Bus for the Crisis Nursery program. Supporters filled a Connect Transit bus with nearly 4,800 items like blankets and diapers for the children who come to us because their parent is in crisis, most often due to homelessness or domestic violence. The Crisis Nursery provides a safe environment for about 220 infants and children each year.
Thank you for helping us serve our community.
