Illinois State senior golfer Kyle Bragg was named the recipient of the 2009 D.A. Weibring Endowment Scholarship.

Bragg earned the scholarship for his ability to balance both his academic and athletic demands.

After completing only 28 rounds in his first two seasons, Bragg broke out in 2008-2009 to finish second on the team in scoring and being one of four Redbirds named to the all-conference team after his third-play finish in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

The Weibring Endowed Scholarship was created in 1994 with proceeds from the D.A. Weibring Redbird Classic and is named for the former ISU golfer who starred on the PGA Tour and is now playing on the Champions Tour. The endowment is awarded to a Redbird golf student-athlete who excels in both academics and athletics.
