Calvary soccer makes semifinals

KANKAKEE - Grant Touma scored two goals and added an assist to spark the Calvary Baptist soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Kankakee Trinity Friday at the Association of Christian Schools International State Tournament.

"We played as well as we have played all year," Calvary coach Mike Touma said. "I was very pleased."

Tyler Collins and B.J. Dennison chipped in one goal each, while Tommy Horine and Seth Howerton had assists.

Goalkeeper Jack Campbell had three saves as the Crusaders improved to 5-9-2. Trinity is 6-11.

Calvary meets Dixon Faith Christian today at 8:30 a.m. in the tournament semifinals.
