Ridgeview beats GCMS

Ridgeview High School's Taylor Zimmerman led the Mustangs with 10 service points, six kills and 31 digs in a 25-22, 20-25, 25-16 Heart of Illinois Conference win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Thursday night at Gibson City.

Darby Gleeson added nine service points and 23 digs for Ridgeview (10-14, 6-6) while Heather Zimmerman had 22 assists and Cari Fairchild had six kills.

Kristin Hood led GCMS (5-18, 1-11) with 10 kills. Melanie McDevitt had 20 assists for the Falcons.

Mahomet tops Eureka

Mahomet-Seymour senior Laura Morris collected 11 service points, eight kills and four blocks to lead the Bulldogs past Eureka 25-7, 27-25 in a Corn Belt Conference match at Eureka.

Rachel Ruedi collected 16 assists, four blocks and eight digs for Mahomet-Seymour, which improved to 23-6 overall and 10-2 in the Corn Belt. Lindsey Storm had six kills and eight digs for the Bulldogs, and Brittny Taylor contributed eight service points.

Laura Wirtz had 14 assists to lead Eureka (10-19, 3-9), and Chelsea Prosser added five kills and two blocks.

Dee-Mack beats Heyworth

Kate Poorbaugh had 22 assists and seven digs to lead Deer Creek-Mackinaw to a 25-18, 25-18 victory over Heyworth in a Heart of Illinois Conference match at Heyworth.

Alexa Price scored 12 points, Brittany Smith had nine kills and Katie Nunley contributed five blocks for the Chiefs (27-1-1, 12-0).

Heyworth (8-17, 3-9) was led by Audie Springer with 15 assists and Courtney Feger had 11 digs.

Pontiac bounces Rantoul

Loni Mackinson collected 10 service points and seven assists in Pontiac's 25-16, 25-10 Corn Belt Conference win at Rantoul.

Ashley Timmerman added seven kills and three blocks for Pontiac.

PBL downs Tri-Point

Rachel Kleinsteiber had seven kills and four blocks to lead PBL to a 25-15, 25-23 victory over Tri-Point in a Sangamon Valley Conference game at Cullom.

Lauren Boman had 10 assists and two aces, Blair Schwartz scored 13 points, and Emily Vest and Amanda Schuldt each had nine digs for the Panthers (15-4, 6-1 SVC).

Morgan Tharp had seven digs, six kills and two aces for Tri-Point (8-14).

Fieldcrest rallies past LeRoy

Sarah Morgan had 12 service points and nine kills as Fieldcrest defeated LeRoy 20-25, 25-14, 25-13 in a Heart of Illinois match at Minonk.

Sarah Stremlau added six service points and seven kills for the Knights while Kayla Conroy had 24 assists.

Kirstie Clawson (12 asissts), Jorgia Hanlin (12 digs) and Jill Morgan (six kills) paced LeRoy (7-17, 2-9).

Dwight falls to Reed-Custer

Despite 12 kills and five blocks by Carly Perschnick, host Dwight dropped a tough 26-24, 21-25, 22-25 Interstate Eight decision to Reed Custer.

Stephanie Humbert had 12 service points, including three aces, and nine digs for Dwight (14-12-2 overall, 3-6 in Interstate Eight) while Megan Kohrt had 11 service points and eight kills for the Trojans.

Iroquois West loses

Kelsey Pool had five kills and three aces in a losing effort as Iroquois West fell to Clifton Central, 25-15, 25-13, at Gilman.

Kattie Albrecht added five kills for the Raiders.

Streator edges Dixon

Weslie Gaff had 11 kills, 11 blocks and 11 digs to lead host Streator to a 26-25, 26-28, 25-21 North Central Conference win over Dixon.

Streator (14-10 overall, 3-5 in Mid-State) got 11 kills from Heidi Isermann, 14 service points from Abby Schmink and 19 assists from Alexa Novotney.

Flanagan triumphs

Megan Laughlin recorded nine digs, six kills and six service points in Flanagan's 25-20, 25-18 Heart of Illinois win over visiting Blue Ridge.

The Falcons (23-6, 10-2) also received 12 assists and six service points from Liz Hillman. Jamie Hendricks and Sara Hurd both had 10 kills for Blue Ridge.

Woodland wins in tourney

Tori Pflibsen's nine kills powered Woodland to a 25-22, 25-15 win over Putnam County in the Tri-County Conference Tournament.

CPCI suffers first SVC loss

Senior Hannah Dodd scored eight points with three aces and had seven assists to lead CPCI but it wasn't enough as St. Joseph-Ogden beat the Timberwolves 25-13, 25-21 in a Sangamon Valley Conference game at Cissna Park.

Kristen Strom had seven kills for the Timberwolves (22-8, 7-1).
