ATLANTA, Ga. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team split two matches Friday at the Emory Tournament.

The Titans disposed of Muskingum, 22-30, 30-19, 30-28, 30-26, before dropping a 30-18, 30-21, 27-30, 30-23 decision to host Emory.

Melissa Serritella led IWU with 19 kills and Katie Butson added 16 against Muskingum. Ashley Reed contributed 34 digs and six aces.

"The first match we were a little slow," said Wesleyan coach Kim Nelson-Brown, whose team has a 16-10 overall record. "But we really took control of Muskingum."

Michele Malinowski had nine kills and Sarah Vegter and Butson chipped in eight each. Jaclyn Verticchio recorded 24 digs and Reed 19.

"Emory is probably the best team we've played this year," Nelson-Brown said. "It was nice to see us take game three."
