PEORIA - The University High School swim team won the six-team Irish Invitational Saturday, scoring 340 points to best host Peoria Notre Dame by 35. Normal West placed fifth with 182.

U High was led by Josh Davis, who placed second in the 200 individual medley (2:03.86) and 100 butterfly (56.31) and swam on the runner-up 400 freestyle relay (3:33.24) with Christian Grobe, John Williamson and Brad Saunders.

Teammate Tyler Hines was second in the 500 freestyle (4:57.94) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:50.67) while Sebastian Grobe placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.33).

Normal West was led by third-placers Drew Frey in the 100 freestyle (51.50), Trevor Mitchell in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.99) and Joshua Peterson in the 500 freestyle (5:09.66). The Wildcats were also third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:36.98).
