BLOOMINGTON - The ICE Racing Series featuring professional Manufacturers World Cup motorcycles and Unlimited Outlaw Quads will appear on the ice of U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Jan. 5.

Twenty races will be held to determine event championships in several classes.

Manufacturers World Cup motorcycles are lightweight with aluminum frames and feature powerful 450 cc, four-strike racing engines. The bikes are equipped with razor-sharp, steel-studded tires for traction and are capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in three seconds.

The Outlaw Quad division consists of highly modified four-wheel ATVs built and prepared specifically for oval-track ice racing.

Amateur riders will be allowed to compete in Nitro X-Karts, Big Dogs Pit Bikes and ICE Breaker Amateur Quads. Individuals interested in racing should contact ICE headquarters at (843) 234-2777 or by e-mail at ice@sccoast.net.
