EAST MOLINE -- The Bloomington-Normal Baseball Association Gold 18-under travel team lost twice in first-day play at the Leo Brunner Invitational in East Moline on Friday.

Wheaton bounced the Gold, 12-2, in game one. Brock Stewart and Colton Moore knocked in the Gold runs while Ben Heaton (1-2) took the loss.

Despite a home run and three RBIs from Moore, Rock Island outslugged the Gold, 13-10, in the second game. Ben McAllister and Alex Johnson each drove in two runs while Chad Hinshaw and Stewart both had two hits and an RBI. Austin Swanson (4-2) was saddled with the loss.
