Lincoln 21, Springfield Southeast 7
Junior Fred Dorsey ran for 122 yards and scored two touchdowns Friday night to lead Lincoln High School to its first win of the season, a 21-7 Central State Eight Conference victory over Springfield Southeast at Lincoln.
Southeast took a 7-6 lead at halftime on a 77-yard run by Carlston Acres who ran for 125 yards for the game.
Lincoln (1-5, 1-4) answered with a 5-yard TD run by Jon Leisinger and a 53-yard TD run by Fred Dorsey in the fourth quarter.
Dwight 31, Seneca 7
Zack Myers passed for 102 yards and two touchdowns to lead Dwight High School to a 31-7 victory over Seneca in an Interstate Eight Conference game at Seneca Friday.
Myers put the Trojans (3-3, 2-1) ahead 6-0 with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Dan Thompson. Seneca (0-6, 0-3) answered with a 4-yard run by Seth Hobbs to grab a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Then it was all Dwight after that.
Colton Tambling scored on a 5-yard run to give the Trojans a 12-7 halftime lead.
James Nakashima scored on runs of 25 and 5 yards in the third quarter to push Dwight's advantage to 24-7. Myers completed the scoring with a 15-yard pass to Curt Perschnick.
Dixon 21, Streator 0
Senior running back Ben Huff rushed 13 times for 60 yards, but Streator fell to Dixon in a North Central Illinois Conference Reagan Division game at Streator.
The Bulldogs (1-5, 1-2) were in an early hole Dukes halfback Mike Ridgeway scored on a 10-yard run six minutes into the game.
Dixon added touchdowns in both the second and fourth quarters to seal the victory.
St. Teresa 62, Clinton 7
Sean Dunning ran for 296 yards and five touchdowns as St. Teresa rolled to an Okaw Valley Conference win over host Clinton.
Dunning scored on runs of 55, 1, 54, 11 and 5 yards as St. Teresa (5-1 in Okaw Valley and overall) bolted to a 34-0 first-quarter lead and was never threatened. Bulldogs' quarterback Nathan Brinkoetter threw for one touchdown and ran for another, while Kevin Hogan returned an errant Clinton pass 19 yards for a score.
Clinton (1-5 in Okaw Valley and overall) avoided the shut out when Cody Thomas scored on a 9-yard run in the fourth quarter. John Smith had 19 yards on 10 carries for the Maroons.
