NORMNAL - Wide receiver Micha Gordon and defensive back Cameron Thompkins were dismissed from the Illinois State football team Thursday, according to Redbird coach Denver Johnson.

Gordon and Thompkins along with teammates Mitchell Moore, Antwan Ryles and Clifton Gordon were suspended indefinitely on Sept. 29 for violating team rules in connection with an incident the previous night.

Moore, Ryles and Clifton Gordon remain on suspension.

A sophomore, Micha Gordon played in three games for the Redbirds this season and posted two special teams tackles. Thompkins, a freshman, had not seen any game action.

Football start time changed

The game time for ISU's Nov. 3 football game against North Dakota State in Fargo, N.D., has been moved ahead two hours to 4:07 p.m. at the Fargodome.

The game will be televised by KYLY-TV, the statewide NBC affiliate in North Dakota. Arrangements for local coverage of the broadcast are also being pursued.

The Bison are ranked No. 1 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 2 in The Sports Network rankings, while riding an 11-game winning streak, the longest in Division I football.

The Redbirds entertain No. 24 Western Illinois on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., in front of an expected capacity crowd for Family Day at Hancock Stadium.
