NORMAL - Three goals in a six-minute span, with a pair coming from senior Meghan Boler, helped the Illinois State soccer team blank North Dakota State, 3-0, in a nonconference matchup Friday at Adelaide Street Field.

The Redbirds improved to 5-7-3. The Bison, coached by former Redbird assistant Pete Cuadrado, are 8-6-1.

"We've really talked about starting all over again, and putting the first part of this season behind us," said ISU coach Pete Kowall. "I think Sunday's win over Indiana State and Meghan's goal in that win helped to propel us into today. We really took advantage of our opportunities and put them away early."

ISU's goals all came in the first half.

After Boler opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, junior Yvonne Northover scored on an Ammanda Wisniewski assist.

Just 46 seconds later, Bethany Russ assisted on Boler's second goal.

Redbird goalie Andrea Shaw got the shutout, notching 75 minutes in goal. She recorded four saves.
