Dustin Thompson qualifies for State Amateur

TUSCOLA -- Dustin Thompson of Bloomington shot a 1-under-par 71 to tie for second place and qualify for the Illinois State Amateur Championship on Wednesday at Ironhorse Golf Club in Tuscola.
Joe Kinney of Antioch was medalist with 70.
It took a 72 to earn a spot in the State Amateur, which will be held Aug. 11-13 at Bloomington Country Club.
