NORMAL -- Kelsey Williams and Megan Nonnemacher notched pitching victories to lift the BNGSA Avanti's Angels 18-under travel softball team to a doubleheader sweep of the BNGSA Rebels, 8-3 and 3-1, Tuesday at Champion Fields in Normal.
Williams (9-4) won the opener, allowing five hits and two earned runs in five innings with five strikeouts. Emma Clark had three hits and two stolen bases for the Angels (24-6). Hannah Wenger paced the Rebels with two hits.
Nonnemacher (13-2) tossed a four-hitter in the nightcap, striking out seven and allowing one earned run. Ariel Frantz had two hits and two RBIs for the Angels, and Kristen Baldwin added three hits.
Sarah Jesse took the loss for the Rebels, allowing eight hits and two earned runs in seven innings. Cymone Allen had two hits.
