Bloomington Extreme wide receiver/kick returner Carl Sims was named the Indoor Football League's special teams player of the week on Wednesday.

Sims, a 6-foot-1, 190-pounder who played in college at Western Illinois, returned a kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown and caught a 15-yard scoring pass in the Extreme's 50-12 win over the Maryland Maniacs last Saturday.

It was Sims' second game with the Extreme.
