LISLE - Rico Grino ran for two touchdowns in the first quarter as Benedictine University downed Eureka College 35-7 in an Illini-Badger Conference football game Saturday.
Eureka College quarterback Nick Lindsey completed eight passes for a game-high 93 yards and a touchdown. The Red Devils fell to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the league.
Benedictine (3-5, 2-3) led 20-7 at halftime after gaining 102 yards on just 15 plays in the first quarter.
Eureka College scored its only points in the second quarter as Lindsey hooked up with receiver Sam Hendricks for a 39-yard touchdown pass.
The Red Devils were unable to sustain their drives in the first half as they failed on five of six third down conversions.
The Eagles tallied 425 total yards, including 354 yards on the ground with a 5.9-yard average.
Eureka College managed 130 yards rushing. Damon Mehlberg scampered for 87 yards on the ground for Eureka College.
