NCHS grad Hanson leads area efforts at U.S. swimming nationals

INDIANAPOLIS -- Normal Community High School graduate Emily Hanson's 400-meter freestyle time in the preliminaries ranked 27th on Tuesday in the U.S. national swimming championship at Indianapolis.
She clocked 4 minutes, 18.96 seconds to lead four entrants with Pantagraph area ties.
Lindsay Gendron of the Bloomington-Normal YMCA WAVES clocked 4:25.43 for 53rd while Bloomington High School graduate Monica Drake was 56th (4:28.96) and NCHS graduate Caitlin Hamilton 57th (4:32.22).
