ST. LOUIS - Elgin said the Valley remains committed to a neutral site for its women's tournament for at least two more years after last season's debut at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. Previous tournaments had been held at campus sites.
"I think we had a very representative (fan) showing at the Family Arena," Elgin said. "We think we can build on that. There's no question we're going to do better raising money for that event and bringing more fans in.
"It's a risk. Not a lot of conferences on the men's side or the women's side can do it and can break even or better. But the purpose of bringing a conference tournament to a neutral site is to advance your better teams, and you saw that last year."
