About the Huskies: Houston Baptist is in its second year of NCAA Division I provisional membership. The Huskies joined the Great West Conference this summer and will begin league play next season. Houston Baptist played 18 straight road games last season while compiling a 13-15 record. Gordon Watt, a Purdue transfer who led the Huskies in scoring (16.4 ppg) and rebounding (8.0) last season, is an Evanston High School graduate. Before coming to Dallas this weekend, Houston Baptist opened on the road with losses to No. 16-ranked Marquette (95-64) and Middle Tennessee (80-63).
