NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Freshman right-hander Dan Savas earned the win in his first collegiate start, leading the Redbirds to a 3-1 series finale victory over Belmont on Sunday at Nashville, Tenn.

Savas (1-0) pitched six innings, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out four and walking one. The Redbirds (2-2) split the season-opening series with the Bruins (2-2).

Zach Amrein was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Tyler McNeely drove in the other run to finish the weekend with a team-high six RBIs.

The Redbirds return to Tennessee from Feb. 25-27 for a three-game series in Clarkville, Tenn. ISU will play the first game against Austin Peay, and the second two against Milwaukee.
