WHITING, Ind. — Peyton Dillingham's sacrifice fly scored Jack Butler in the top of the 11th inning with the winning run as the Bloomington Bobcats beat the Northern Indiana Oilmen, 7-6, in the deciding game of their best-of-three Midwest Collegiate League semifinal playoff series.
The fourth-seeded Bobcats advance to the championship series beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday against the No. 2 Southland Vikings at Chicago Heights.
Zach Frey was the star for the Bobcats against No. 1 Northern Indiana. Frey threw seven innings of relief, allowing two hits and one earned run, while striking out five to earn the win. He also supplied a three-run homer.
Mitch Fairfield had two hits and scored two runs for the Bobcats.
