Muller names video coordinator: Illinois State head men’s basketball coach Dan Muller on Tuesday announced the hiring of Will Veasley as the program’s video coordinator.
Veasley played collegiately at Butler and professionally for two years before transitioning into coaching.
“Will was a tremendous Illinois high school basketball player, is the all-time winningest player in Butler history and started in their first national championship game,” Muller said. “Will has a degree in Digital Media Production, and we are very lucky that he has decided to join us as video coordinator.”
Most recently, Veasley was video coordinator at IUPUI for one season. He was in charge of film exchange, film editing and oversaw the design and distribution of individual recruitment portfolios.
Veasley was a four-year player at Butler and helped his team make four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Final Four run in 2010. He was named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team in 2009-10.
Veasley began his pro career in the BJ League, playing in Japan for a season before being a fifth-round selection by Rio Grande Valley of the NBA D-League.
He played his high school ball at Freeport.
Three gridders on All-America team: College football prognosticator Phil Steele and his contributors have recognized three Illinois State players on the PhilSteele.com Preseason Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-American Team announced Tuesday.
Senior defensive end Colton Underwood was selected to the first team. Junior fullback Jordan Neukirch was on the second team and junior long snapper Chris Highland, a Central Catholic High School graduate, made the third team.
Underwood, Neukirch and senior offensive tackle Josh Aladenoye were first-team All-MVFC preseason selections on the website, with Underwood the preseason pick to win the defensive player of the year award.
Junior wideout Lechein Neblett, junior tight end James O’Shaughnessy and junior defensive back Mike Banks were second-team selections.
