Freshman Matt Mroczyn-ski has been named Missouri Valley Conference cross country athlete of the week on Thursday for his performance at the Illini Challenge 6K race last week.

Mroczynski of Pulaski, Wis., finished second in a time of 18 minutes, 26.88 seconds, behind Illinois' Jacob Nachel (18:15.30).
