Illinois State softball coach Melinda Fischer announced Thursday that Tara Glasco Archibald has been hired as an assistant coach with the Redbirds.
Archibald, a former NCAA Scholar Athlete winner at Southern Illinois, has 14 years of coaching experience at various levels.
A native on Johnston City, Archibald previously served as an assistant coach working primarily with pitchers at Georgia from 2011 to 2014 while coordinating travel, scheduling, camps, recruiting and serving as the team’s academic liaison.
Before joining ISU, Archibald's previous job came at Field House Sports in Millican, Texas, where she worked as the Sports Administrator and Lead Softball Instructor.
Archibald is married to Bryan Archibald, and they have three children: Aidan, Maddux and Payton. She replaces Megan Warner, who left to pursue a career in sales.
