Illinois Wesleyan junior Allie Boudreau broke her own women's track and field school record in the heptathlon by 166 points Thursday in the Drake Relays at Des Moines, Iowa.

Boudreau totaled 4,762 points in her performances from Wednesday and Thursday, surpassing the mark of 4,596 she set in 2012.

On Wednesday, she clocked 16.10 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, jumped 4 feet, 11 1/2 inches in the high jump, threw the shot put 32-11 and ran the 200-meter dash in 25.75 seconds. On Thursday, Boudreau jumped 16-5 in the long jump, tossed the javelin 123-4 and ran the 800 in 2:15.44.


Women's tennis eyes MVC tourney opener: Illinois State's women's tennis team meets Northern Iowa at 10 a.m. Friday in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Team Championships at the Gregory Street Courts.

ISU (9-9, 2-4 MVC) is the fifth seed and UNI is seeded fourth. The winner advances to face top-seeded Wichita State at 10 a.m. Saturday. Competition runs through Sunday.


BHS grad Steffen takes fifth at Drake Relays: Indiana State's Kelly Steffen, a 2010 graduate of Bloomington High School, placed fifth overall and second among collegiate entrants in the heptathlon at the Drake Relays.

Steffen scored a personal-best 4,980 points, which ranks second in Indiana State history.
