Jensen Keck swam the 100-yard breaststroke preliminaries in 1 minute, 2.32 seconds to break the Illinois State record in the USA Winter Nationals on Friday at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio.

Keck later finished 23rd in the finals in 1:02.60. Teammate Rachel Holm was 36th in the prelims in 1:03.66.

Titans 6th in swim meet: After the second day of the A3 Carthage Winter Classic, the IWU men’s and women’s swim teams are both sixth at Kenosha, Wis. In the 10-team men's competition, the IWU men have 396 points. Wisconsin-Whitewater leads with 1,267. For the women, IWU has 520 points while Carthage leads with 1,181.

The top result for the Wesleyan women was Lisa Cheng’s second-place effort in the 100-yard freestyle (53.35). The IWU men were led by their sixth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:30.53).
