NORMAL — Two straight victories over nationally ranked teams have vaulted the Illinois State football team into the top 15 of both major FCS national polls.

The Redbirds moved up four spots to No. 12 in the STATS rankings and eight places to No. 13 in the FCS Coaches poll after a 35-0 win over Youngstown State, which dropped out of the rankings.

The FCS Coaches list also has North Dakota State at No. 2 and South Dakota at No. 6 with South Dakota State No. 8 and Western Illinois No. 18.

ISU (6-2) faces Western Illinois (5-3) on Saturday at Hancock Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

Northern Arizona, which handed the Redbirds one of their losses, is ranked 16th by the FCS Coaches and 18th by STATS.
