ATHENS, Ga. -- The Illinois State softball team wrapped up a 4-1 weekend at the Red and BlackShowcase with a 4-1 win over Iowa at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga., on Sunday.

Liz Andrews had three hits and drove in five runs to power the Redbirds’ 14-hit attack. Abby Olson had four hits and four RBIs, including her first homer of the season, a two-run shot in the second inning.

Kara Nelson had three hits and two RBIs, Elizabeth Kay drove in pair of runs and Lauren Kellar chipped in three hits.

Starting pitcher Jordan Birch (1-0) gave up three hits and three earned runs over 4 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Chrissy Burton held Iowa hitless over the final 2 1/3 innings while striking three without a walk.
