PEORIA -- Illinois State's first visit to Bradley's new Renaissance Coliseum was not a pleasant one as the Braves swept a Missouri Valley Conference volleyball match, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18, on Thursday in Peoria.
The win was just the eighth for Bradley in 50 all-time matches against ISU.
"Bradley played inspired and with a lot of pride in this new facility, which they have all year," Redbird coach Melissa Myers said. "The second set could have gone either way, and Bradley found a way to pull it out. We need to learn from this match."
ISU (17-12, 5-9 in Valley play) got a team-high 13 kills and just three errors from freshman Shannon McGlaughlin. Senior Mallory Leggett added nine kills.
Junior Megan Schmidt, a Central Catholic High School graduate, led Bradley (7-21, 2-13) with 11 kills and four blocks.
