Senior Ben Hall could be a frequent target after the graduation of David Johnson (37 catches, 602 yards, six touchdowns). Hall averaged an impressive 22.8 yards per catch on 11 receptions last year with two TDs.

Junior Jake Todino showed promise at quarterback last year when he filled in for the injured Tyler Cook. Todino completed 24 of 41 passes for 345 yards. He threw for 205 yards and ran for 84 in a start at Rochester.

What would U High football be without a Chiodo? Vince Chiodo is a junior receiver/defensive back. His grandfather, Frank, was a longtime Pioneer coach, while his father, two uncles and two brothers played at U High.

Senior Zach Zentner could be everywhere this year. He was a regular at linebacker and running back last year. He likely will be in those spots at times, but also might see action at strong safety and quarterback.

U High's three-year absence from the playoffs cannot be attributed to first-game jitters. The Pioneers have won eight straight openers, the past three against this year's opening opponent, Olympia.
