Brimfield 51, Williamsville 41: No. 3-seeded and No. 9-state ranked Brimfield (16-0) received 20 points from 6-foot-3 junior Paige Spietz to hold off Williamsville (6-4).
Spring Valley Hall 48, Monmouth-Roseville 44: Carly Prokup's 10 points lifted Hall (9-2) over Monmouth-Roseville (6-6).
Kankakee McNamara 50, St. Joseph-Ogden 24: No. 4-seeded and No. 10-state ranked McNamara (6-2) had no problem with St. Joseph-Ogden (6-6). Erika Tatum led the Fightin' Irish with 21 points.
Rochester 44, Camp Point Central-Augusta Southeastern 22: Katelyn Wise had 12 points and Katie Turley 11 for the victorious defending champions (9-5).
Tolono Unity 52, Pana 47: Unity (10-4) overcame a 36-35 deficit entering the final period to down Pana (6-7).
Small-school boys
IVC 45, Rochester 36: Sixth-seeded IVC bolted to a 15-4 first-quarter lead and went on to defeat No. 11 Rochester in a first-round small school bracket game at Shirk Center. Billy Seiler had 18 points to pace IVC (6-2). Alec Shunk's 13 points paced Rochester.
St. Joseph-Ogden 43, Addison Driscoll 38: Jake Firkins scored 25 points as ninth-seeded St. Joseph-Ogden (8-2) downed No. 8 Addison Driscoll. Austin Baker and Matt Kaban had eight each to lead Driscoll (4-5).
Big-school boys
Springfield 71, Rock Island 50: The biggest upset of the day wasn't even close. Springfield (5-7), the No. 14 seed, surged to a 33-23 halftime lead and cruised past No. 3 Rock Island (5-5). The Senators' Benjamin Mathis and Rock Island sophomore Chasson Randle tied for game-high scoring honors with 17 points each.
Hononegah 66, Rock Island Alleman 46: Senior guard David Brown poured in 33 points and Mario Donaldson added 17 as fourth-seeded Rockton-Hononegah rolled past No. 13 Rock Island Alleman.
Peoria ND 64, Grayslake Central 45: Sophomore Max Bielfeldt scored 17 points as 12th-seeded Peoria Notre Dame surprised No. 5 Grayslake Central.
Rock Falls 65, Quincy ND 58: Thanks to a combined 47 points from sophomore Jake Junis (20), Tevin Rumley (14) and Michael Lauts (13), No. 9-seeded Rock Falls got past No. 8 Quincy Notre Dame.
Sterling 48, Galesburg 30: Illinois recruit Joseph Bertrand scored 12 points and Devin Johnson added 11 as seventh-seeded Sterling (8-2) pulled away in the second half to down No. 10 Galesburg.
Lake Forest 68, Bishop McNamara 43: Second-seeded Lake Forest (7-2) took a 33-21 halftime lead and cruised past No. 15 Kankakee Bishop McNamara in the final game of the day.
Big-school girls
Peoria Richwoods 65, Joliet 49: Top-seeded Peoria Richwoods (14-2) used a big second half from sophomore standout Mariah Smith to pull away from pesky No. 16 seed Joliet. Smith, a 6-foot guard, netted 15 of her game-high 22 points in the second half to lead Richwoods. Maddie Nieukirk (17) and Katie Murphy (10) also scored in double figures for the Knights. Joliet received 12 points from Adjoa Matthews.
Galesburg 48, Hope 44: Defending champion Hope, which played the final 51.7 seconds of regulation and an overtime period with only four players because of foul problems, couldn't hang on as sixth-seeded Galesburg (8-6) rallied. Hope (7-7), which dressed only six players, missed two free throws with 0.4 seconds left that would have won the game. Myneka Warner had a game-high 17 points for Galesburg. Hope was led by Sahara Harrison's 11.
Rock Island Alleman 44, Neuqua Valley 32: Fourth-seeded Rock Island Alleman (9-3) overcame a sluggish start and pulled away for a win over No. 13 Naperville Neuqua Valley. A.J. Ledbetter led Alleman with 11 points.
Maine South 52, Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin 44: Seventh-seeded Park Ridge Maine South built a comfortable lead and turned back a late Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin comeback. Jackie Rieger put in a game-high 21 points for Maine South, while Mallory Beck topped SHG with 16.
