WARRENSBURG - Clinton (1-1) turned in another strong defensive effort, but the Warrensburg-Latham (1-1) had a better one as the Cardinals held on for the win at Warrensburg.

The Maroons advanced inside Warrensburg-Latham's 1-yard line with just under 4 minutes to play, but the Cardinal defense dropped the Maroons twice behind the line of scrimmage. After forcing a punt, Clinton had the ball on its own 49-yard line, but turned it over on downs.

The only score came on a 3-yard run by Warrensburg-Latham quarterback Kirk Neibuhr with 9:57 left in the third quarter.
