Central Catholic was No. 2 last week before routing Pontiac, 59-15, while Driscoll lost to Wheaton St. Francis, 27-7.

Central Catholic (3-0) received 10 of 16 first-place votes and 153 points from an Associated Press panel of sportswriters. Quincy Notre Dame was second with 133 points, followed by Breese Mater Dei, Aurora Christian and Driscoll.

The Saints put their top ranking on the line Saturday when they travel downstate to face Mount Carmel (2-1), which is No. 7 in the Class 4A poll.
