Marisa Milligan of Normal, Stacey Miller of Bloomington and Lincoln's Katherine Hepler are in a six-way tie for eighth with a 148 after Friday's second round of the Illinois Women's Open at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville. Aimee Neff of Carmel, Ind., leads with a seven-under-par 137, six shots ahead of Evanston's Jennifer Hong.
The 54-hole event concludes today.
Hepler, a freshman-to-be at University High School, tallied a two-under 70 in round two and had the third-lowest score on the day. Milligan and Miller, who are teammates at Illinois State, each carded a three-over 75.
Normal's Chelsea Harris (149) is in a tie for 14th, while Jan Bowers (153) of Lincoln sits in a tie for 28th. Bloomington's Kaitlyn Wampler (168) missed the cut.
