Normal West track and cross country star Jonny Kaufmann has announced he will attend North Central College and compete for legendary distance coach Al Carius.

Kaufmann, who plans to study sports broadcasting, has personal bests of 4:26.11 in the outdoor 1,600, 9:55.0 in the 3,200 and 1:59.9 in the 800. He ran a 4:24.00 1,600 to place second in the Illinois Prep Top Times Indoor Classic.
