DECATUR — Senior guard Austyn Ellison scored 13 points Saturday night to lead Central Catholic High School's basketball team to a 66-33 nonconference victory over Decatur St. Teresa.

Tommy Nelson and Jack Gilmore added 11 points each for the Saints, while Patrick Rahuba and James Morris scored eight apiece.

Central upped its record to 10-5 after starting the season 0-4.

"We held them to four points in the second quarter and honestly that really made a good margin at halftime (27-16)," Saints' coach Jason Welch said. "They had a little bit of a hard time scoring the basketball and we were able to play free and easy."

The win was the fourth in a week span for Central.

"They (his players) are starting to click," Welch said. "We talk about having a step process. Certainly this week we were able to complete all four steps and that's really nice."
