Junior guard Lexi Jochums led the way with 14 points as the Fieldcrest High School girls basketball team claimed a 49-45 win over Tri-Valley in a hard-fought Heart of Illinois Conference game Thursday night at Minonk.
Fieldcrest led by just two points at halftime before opening up an eight-point advantage heading into the final frame. Leah White and Addie Goodrich added nine points apiece for the Knights.
Hannah Rudskinski had a team-high 11 points for Tri-Valley.
Rochester 42, University High 25: Chelsie Price registered team highs with 14 points and seven rebounds as the Pioneers (0-6, 0-1) dropped their Central State Eight Conference opener at Rochester.
Five players had eight points each to lead Rochester (6-2, 1-0).
Prairie Central 32, Olympia 28: Emily Wilson had a pair of 3-pointers and nine points to help the Hawks slip past the Spartans for an Illini Prairie Conference win at Stanford. Chevy Wilkins had a game-high 10 points for Olympia.
El Paso-Gridley 54, Fisher 32: Aubrey Staton scored 19 points and Cheyenne Carr contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead EPG to a Heart of Illinois Conference win at El Paso. Addison Benedict also had 10 points for the Titans.
Becca Clanton led Fisher with 13 points and five rebounds.
GCMS 43, Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland 26: Megan Moody's 14 points led GCMS to an HOIC win at Flanagan. Jayden Mitchell had 16 points for FCW.
Ridgeview 49, LeRoy 21: Mya Tinsley's 13 points paced Ridgeview to an HOIC win at Colfax. River Rosales added 10 points for the Mustangs.
Megan Woltkamp had nine points and five rebounds for LeRoy.
Tremont 51, Blue Ridge 24: Alli Fuller scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half as the Turks powered to an HOIC win at Tremont.
Abby Scott added 12 for Tremont, which led 34-4 at halftime. Peyton Lappin and Elizabeth Bowns had six apiece to lead Blue Ridge.
Lexington 39, Dee-Mack 32: The Minutemen overcame a 13-6 first quarter deficit to score an HOIC win at Lexington. Layken McGuire had 14 points for Lexington. Jessica Carithers led Dee-Mack with 14 points.
Clinton 54, Shelbyville 23: The Maroons grabbed a 22-4 first quarter lead and coasted to the win at Clinton. Jayd Rich had 14 points for Clinton, which also received 12 points from Madison Filkin and 11 from Destiny Schlesinger.
PBL 43, Dwight 34: PBL outscored the Trojans 21-11 in the third quarter to grab a Sangamon Valley Conference win at Dwight. Lucy Rieke led Dwight with eight points with Chloe Butterbrodt pulling down eight rebounds.
Monticello 85, Mount Pulaski 46: Skylar Hayes poured in 21 points for the Hilltoppers in a nonconference loss at Monticello. The Sages' Zanna Myers scored 24 of her game-high 31 in the first half while Tatum McCall added 20.
Lincoln 58, Taylorville 43: Leah Schneider scored 22 to lead three Railsplitters in double figures in an Apollo Conference win at Taylorville. Kaelyn Frobe added 15 and Kennedy Lolling contributed 12 for Lincoln.
