Jacob Donaldson's 25 points and 10 rebounds powered the Ridgeview High School basketball team (5-0) to a 58-31 Heart of Illinois Conference victory over visiting LeRoy (4-2) on Friday.

Justin Myers added 23 points for Ridgeview, which built an 18-5 first-quarter lead. The gap was 39-13 at halftime.

Nick Perry had nine points for LeRoy, which committed 19 turnovers.

Tri-Valley 55, Fieldcrest 47: Mason Cagley poured in 19 points and Nolan Anderson 11 for Tri-Valley in a Heart of Illinois Conference win over visiting Fieldcrest.

In a game that was tied at 35 after three quarters, Fieldcrest's Cam Grandy and Jaxson McKay finished with 15 points apiece.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw 70, Lexington 35: Brendan Wheat netted 18 points to lead Deer Creek-Mackinaw to a Heart of Illinois Conference win at Lexington.

The Chiefs raced to a 21-4 first-quarter lead and expanded the margin to 38-14 at halftime. Adam Baillie and Andrew Olson scored eight points apiece for Lexington.

EPG 67, Fisher 57: Jack Weber led four players in double figures with 18 points as El Paso-Gridley beat Fisher in the HOIC opener for both teams at El Paso.

EPG (3-1) also received 16 points from Aaron Steiner, while Hub Halvorsen added 13 and Dylan Smith 11. Steiner also grabbed 13 rebounds.

Jaden Jones-Watkins scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half to spark Fisher (4-1), which cut a nine-point deficit to one with 5:53 left before EPG pulled away. Ryan Meents contributed 17 points for the Bunnies.

Tremont 77, Blue Ridge 59: Titus Thompson scored 15 points to lead six Turks in double figures at Tremont. Landon Pflederer added 11 points while Colton Polhemus, Tim Rice, Logan Pflederer and Luke Barrow contributed 10 each. Dane Houser had a game-high 21 points for Blue Ridge.

GCMS 67, Flanagan-Cornell 49: Bryce Barnes provided 23 points and Ryland Holt 13 as visiting GCMS registered a Heart of Illinois Conference victory at Flanagan. The hosts were led by Jeremy Durdan's 35 points.

GCMS improved to 4-1 overall while Flanagan-Cornell fell to 3-2.

Roanoke-Benson 54, Eureka 47: Roanoke-Benson rallied from a double-digit halftime deficit to score a nonconference win at Eureka. Jake Weber led the Rockets with 16 points and Jarrett Bline had 12. Keith Walder and Alex Brittain paced Eureka with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Heyworth 68, Cornerstone 33: Jeremy Witten scored 24 points, Tate Eller 15 and Colin McCubbins 11 to pace Heyworth (3-0) to a nonconference victory at Cornerstone (4-2).

Joe Kaufman scored 16 points for Cornerstone, which trailed, 26-5, after one quarter.

Lincoln 56, Taylorville 21: Isaiah Bowers scored 25 points, four more than Taylorville, to spark Lincoln to a home victory.

Jordan Moats scored eight points for Taylorville, which lost the turnover battle, 25-5.

Mount Pulaski 67, Cerro Gordo-Bement 26: Senior Peyton Taylor scored 16 points for the host Hilltoppers. Gezus Oliver and Dustin Murphy added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

PBL 67, Dwight 47: Dakota Wahl scored 19 points as Dwight dropped its Sangamon Valley Conference opener at Paxton. Cal Schultz sank four 3-pointers for all 12 of his points for the Trojans.

Clinton 63, Maroa-Forsyth 46: Host Clinton grabbed a 19-6 first-quarter lead and cruised to victory. Seth Westfall led the Maroons with 15 points while Austin Baker added 14 and Dalton Smith 10.

Midland 55, Woodland 42: Chandler Hillebrenner scored 15 points and Tyler Jenkins 13 for Woodland in a loss at Varna.
