Keegan Zimmerman sank seven 3-pointers on his way to 28 points Tuesday night to lead Eureka High School's basketball team to a 51-29 Heart of Illinois Conference victory over Lexington at Eureka.
Zimmerman made six 3s in the first half as the Hornets built a 31-20 lead. The margin was 44-29 after three quarters before Eureka held Lexington scoreless in the final period.
Alex Brittain added 12 points for Eureka. Adam Baillie, Josh Hardman and Tate Walcott had six each to lead Lexington.
Prairie Central 62, Olympia 46: Wyatt Steidinger led a balanced attack with 12 points as Prairie Central posted the Illini Prairie Conference win over Olympia at Stanford.
Keegan Stein and Eddie Shumaker added 11 points each for the Hawks, who led 28-19 at the half. Trey Wilson scored 16 and Mason Marquis 10 for Olympia (3-2).
Tremont 60, Delavan 46: Titus Thompson's 16 points paced Tremont to the nonconference home win over Delavan. Landon Pflederer and Logan Pflederer added eight points each for the Turks. Charlie Hodges had 14 points to lead Delavan.
LeRoy 47, Fisher 45: Will Dooley was 12 of 14 from the free throw line and scored a game-high 20 points to help LeRoy to a Heart of Illinois Conference victory at Fisher. Payne Mayfield added 10 points for the Panthers.
Jaden Jones-Watkins scored 16 points and Kade Thomas 13 for Fisher.
Heyworth 68, Blue Ridge 44: Heyworth opened a 19-8 first quarter lead and cruised to an HOIC win at Farmer City. Tate Eller led the Hornets with 21 points. Jeremy Witten and Colin McCubbins added 17 and 13, respectively.
Senior Dane Houser paced Blue Ridge with 13 points.
GCMS 56, Tri-Valley 47: Ryland Holt finished with 15 points and Connor Birky added 14 to help GCMS pull away from a one-point halftime lead for an HOIC victory at Gibson City. Mason Cagley led Tri-Valley with 13 while Clayton Leipold added 12.
Illini Central 72, Hartsburg-Emden 65: Senior guard Zach Phillips scored 25 points for the Stags in their loss at Hartsburg. Max May buried eight 3-pointers and led Illini Central with 37 points.
Decatur Lutheran 76, Mount Pulaski 71: Gezus Oliver scored 26 points and Peyton Taylor 20 in Mount Pulaski's home loss to Decatur Lutheran.
Roanoke-Benson 48, Trinity Prep 42: Jake Weber and Jack Weber each scored 11 points to lead the Rockets to victory over a Trinity Prep team visiting from Australia. Jordan Huschen added eight points and eight rebounds.
Eureka 52, Tremont 30: Tessa Leman scored 16 points to lead Eureka to the Heart of Illinois Conference victory over Tremont at Eureka College.
Natalie Bardwell added 13 points to surpass 1,000 for her career, while Courtney Heffren scored 10 for the Hornets (7-2, 3-1). Tremont was topped by Renee Hartman's 11 points.
Morton 64, Bloomington 37: The Potters made 12 3-pointers in posting a nonconference victory over the Purple Raiders at Morton. No other information was reported.
Lincoln 45, Galesburg 23: Kaelyn Froebe's 15 points paced Lincoln to the nonconference victory at Lincoln.
