Tessa Leman of Eureka High School and Jayden Standish of Lexington were unanimous selections on the Heart of Illinois Conference girls all-conference basketball team released Monday.
Leman, a senior, was a repeater from last year’s first team after leading Eureka to fourth place in the Class 2A State Tournament. Standish, a sophomore, paced Lexington to a berth in the Class 1A sectional finals.
Joining Leman as repeaters from last year’s first unit were Eureka senior Natalie Bardwell and Heyworth senior Amber Tomlin. El Paso-Gridley senior Aubrey Staton was a first-team pick two years ago before being sidelined by an injury last season.
Heyworth senior Stephanie Brown and Ridgeview junior Mya Tinsley rounded out the first team.
Staton and Tomlin also were named to the All-Defensive Team. They were joined by Eureka junior Courtney Heffren, Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland senior Liberty Vollmer, Fieldcrest junior Lexi Jochums and Lexington senior Raelyn Payne.
