Natalie Bardwell scored 19 points and Tessa Leman added 13 as Eureka High School's girls basketball team defeated Knoxville, 54-47, Monday night in the semifinals of the Class 2A Farmington Secdtional at Farmington.
No. 4 state-ranked Eureka took a 26-22 halftime lead after trailing at the first quarter break and then held on to advance to face Midwest Central in the sectional championship game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Midwest Central defeated Hamilton, 41-25, in Monday's other Farmington semifinal.
Normal West 54, Pekin 40: Ayanna Gibbs scored 23 points to lead the Wildcats to a Class 4A regional quarterfinal win at Pekin. Jess Jacobs added 15 points for West, which advanced to face Peoria High in a 7:30 semifinal contest at Pekin on Tuesday.
Bloomington 61, East Moline 54: The Purple Raiders pulled out an overtime win in Monday's other Class 4A regional quarterfinal at Pekin. No other information was reported. BHS will face Rock Island in a 6 o'clock semifinal Tuesday.
Streator 40, IVC 33: Freshman Natalie Haynes netted 16 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win in a Class 3A regional quarterfinal at Metamora. Streator advanced to face Washington in a 6 p.m. semifinal Tuesday.
