Tessa Leman scored 15 points and became Eureka High School's career scoring leader Thursday night as the Hornets downed Camp Point Central/Augusta Southeastern, 47-43, in the Class 2A Havana Regional championship game.
Leman's team-high total boosted her to 1,689 points for her career, surpassing the 1,677 of 2012 graduate Kalla Gold. Courtney Heffren added nine points for top-seeded and No. 4 state-ranked Eureka (25-3).
The Hornets advanced to the Farmington Sectional semifinals at 6 p.m. Monday against Knoxville.
Laney Lantz had a game-high 39 points for No. 4 seed CSE.
Watseka 54, GCMS 28: Summer Cramer scored 29 points to power No. 2 state-ranked Watseka past Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in the Class 2A Watseka Regional championship game.
Kennedy Bauer added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Watseka (30-1). GCMS (18-13) was paced by Megan Moody with 11 points.
Cissna Park 45, Dwight 33: Gabby Wessels scored 23 points to lead second-seeded Cissna Park past No. 3 seed Dwight in the championship game of the Class 1A Illinois Lutheran Regional at Crete.
Mel Stewart had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Dwight (13-11). The Trojans trailed 14-3 after the first quarter but got to within two points in the second half.
St. Teresa 70, Mount Pulaski 50: Skylar Hayes led all scorers with 25 points as Mount Pulaski came up short against Decatur St. Teresa in the championship game of the Class 1A St. Teresa Regional at Decatur.
The Hilltoppers held a 21-20 lead after the first quarter before the Bulldogs erupted for 22 points in the second quarter to take a 42-26 advantage at the half.
DaeLin Switzer had 17 points while Madison Snow and Addison Fyke chipped in 10 each to pace St. Teresa.
Chatham Glenwood 48, University High 43: Addy Loeffler had 21 points and eight rebounds as University High came up short in its regular season finale at Normal.
Chelsie Price chipped in nine points and 12 rebounds for the Pioneers, who fell to 11-18 overall and 9-9 in Central State Eight Conference play. Chatham Glenwood got 25 points from Makenzie Bray and 15 from Ciara Lahr.
Pontiac 48, Prairie Central 44: Addison Masching scored 18 points to lead Pontiac to the Illini Prairie Conference win at Fairbury. Lindsey Hunt added 10 points for Pontiac.
Prairie Central was paced by Emily Wilson with 14 points and Elly Haberkorn with 12.
