Jadyn Mitchell connected on 11 of 13 free throws and scored a game-high 27 points to lead the No. 8-seeded Flanagan-Cornell-Woodland girls basketball team to a 56-55 overtime victory against Kewanee in the Class 2A Flanagan Regional on Tuesday.

The quarterfinal contest was tied 48-48 at the end of regulation. Regan Reed added 12 points for Flanagan, which advances to face No. 2-seed Fieldcrest in a Wednesday semifinal.

GCMS 37, Momence 28: Makenzi Bielfeldt scored 12 of her 16 points in the first half to help No. 4-seeded GCMS to a Watseka Regional semifinal victory. The Falcons face No. 1-seeded Watseka, which took a 65-29 victory over Clifton Central, in Thursday's championship game.

El Paso-Gridley 40, Olympia 18: EPG opened the game with a 10-0 scoring run and cruised to the win in a Class 2A Tremont Regional semifinal.

Ashlyn Stone had 17 points and six rebounds for the Titans (21-6). Aubrey Staton added 15 points and also grabbed six boards. Colby Burt scored five points and Kaiden Finck had 11 rebounds for Olympia (9-19).

Midwest Central 68, Tremont 55: Midwest Central took a 14-point halftime lead and cruised past Tremont in the Tremont Regional semifinal. Vanessa Ehnle paced the Turks with 21 points. 


Central Catholic 75, Rantoul 29: The Saints went undefeated in league play in their inaugural Illini Prairie Conference season with a win at Rantoul.

Lauren Shanks and Bailey Coffman each had a double-double for Central (21-5, 9-0) with Shanks scoring 18 points and adding 15 steals. Coffman had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman guard Katie Steinman contributed 16 points.

NCHS 64, Danville 48: Maya Wong scored 15 points, Abby Feit 14 and Caelyn Steffens 10 for Normal Community (22-6, 9-1) in a Big 12 Conference victory at Danville (18-7, 6-4). Hannah Johnson chipped eight eight rebounds for the Iron, who share the No. 9 state ranking in Class 4A.

Jale Parker and Mikayla Hall scored 14 points apiece for Danville, which trailed at halftime, 42-24. Makayla Gray added 10 points for the Vikings.

Bloomington 52, Peoria 38: Ellie Weltha provided 15 points and eight rebounds as host Bloomington (15-11, 6-4) notched a Big 12 Conference win over Peoria (20-8, 7-3).

Olivia Falls and Bett O'Neal added 11 points apiece for the Purple Raiders, who won the second half, 26-14. Falls also grabbed eight rebounds.

Normal West 62, Champaign Central 45: Arie Sims scored 13 points and Tresoir Newson 10 for Normal West (16-9, 7-3) in its Big 12 Conference finale at Champaign.

Sims and Annie Hollins had five steals apiece for the Wildcats.


Flanagan-Cornell 64, Lexington 49: Jeremy Durdan poured in 32 points to power Flanagan-Cornell (11-14, 4-8) past visiting Lexington (6-18, 0-11). Karson Kimpling chipped in 17 points for the Falcons.

The Minutemen, who trailed 36-18 at halftime, received 13 points from Nicholas Beard and 11 from Tyler Grimsley.

GCMS 65, Watseka 63: Mitch McNutt's 22 points and Bryce Barnes' 21 paced GCMS to a nonconference win over visiting Watseka. Ryland Holt added 14 points for the Falcons (21-3), who took a 55-50 lead into the final quarter.

Watseka (17-9) received 25 points from Brendan Fletcher and 20 from Justin McTaggart. 

Urbana Uni High 45, Fisher 43: Kade Thomas tallied 19 points and Jaden Jones-Watkins 12 for host Fisher (12-13). At halftime, the Bunnies led, 20-15.

Ridgeview 51, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 40: Justin Myers led a balanced Ridgeview attack with 15 points in the Mustangs' Heart of Illinois Conference win at Colfax. Alex Tongate added 13 points with Jacob Donaldson contributing a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Levi Scheuermann had 11 points for Dee-Mack.

Tremont 76, Hartsburg-Emden 41: Logan Pflederer paced the Turks with 18 points in their nonconference win at Hartsburg. Sophomore guard Cody Coit led Hartem with 12 points.

Blue Ridge 54, Iroquois West 50: Trey Jamison and Nick Burrow paced Blue Ridge with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the Knights earned a nonconference win at Farmer City.

Fieldcrest 65, Putnam County 35: Cam Grandy scored 18 points while Derek May added 13 as Fieldcrest took a nonconference win at Minonk.

Judah Christian 78, LeRoy 66: Daniel Alston's 25 points helped Judah Christian beat host LeRoy in a nonconference game. Nick Perry scored 23 points, while Nate Sammer added 13 to pace the Panthers.

Heyworth 71, Eureka 59: Tate Eller had a game-high 23 points for the Hornets in their HOIC win at Heyworth. Jeremy Witten added 20 points and Matt Schultz 19 for Heyworth.

Keegan Zimmerman led Eureka with 16 points.

Midland 83, Cornerstone 79: Joe Kaufman had a career-high 25 points for the Cyclones in a nonconference loss at Bloomington. Cassidy Jean added 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Cornerstone (12-9).

Lincoln 37, Mount Zion 23: Ben Grunder contributed a game-high 14 points as Lincoln held visiting Mount Zion to 28.6 percent field goal shooting while taking an Apollo Conference victory.

Pontiac 81, IVC 77, OT: Cameron Dawson scored 20 points as Pontiac prevailed in overtime in an Illini Prairie Conference game at Pontiac.

Warrensburg-Latham 50, Clinton 46: Austin Rauch had 18 points for the Maroons (12-9, 2-3) in their Central Illinois Conference loss at Warrensburg.
