Kayla Stenger drove in three runs as Central Catholic High School opened its softball season with an 8-0 victory over Morton on Tuesday at the Louisville Slugger Complex in Peoria.
Harley Schade and Charlie Sartoris had two hits each for the Saints.
Izzy Vetter, the first of four Central pitchers, was credited with the win after striking out six and allowing no runs in two innings.
Central falls at Dunlap: The Central Catholic girls soccer team dropped a 7-0 decision to host Dunlap.
Dunlap scored all seven of its goals in the first half and attempted only two shots on goal in the mercy-rule shortened second period.
