EAST PEORIA — Kayla Stenger and Bailey Coffman each had a pair of doubles and three RBIs to lead the Central Catholic High School softball team to an 8-1 Illini Prairie Conference victory over Olympia on Monday at the Louisville Slugger Dome.
Izzy Vetter belted a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Saints while also earning her seventh pitching victory of the year to go against one loss.
Vetter struck out 14 while holding Olympia to three hits in 4⅔ innings, as the Saints improved to 14-3 overall and 2-1 in the Illini Prairie.
Freshman Chloe Scroggins led Olympia with three hits, including a double. Emme Olson also had a double among her two hits. Olympia suffered its first Illini Prairie loss and fell to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in league play.
