The Calvary Christian Academy soccer team matched its 2016 win total with a 3-0 victory over Olympia at Stanford on Tuesday.

Bryant Sturgill had two goals for the Knights, who improved to 3-2-1.

Hunter Goodwin also scored for Calvary with Leo Dotson credited with an assist. Jeb Bener had four saves for the Knights.

Normal West downed Jordan Walker had one goal and one assist while Parker Theobald added a goal for Normal West (5-2), which lost, 6-2, at Bradley-Bourbonnais (5-0). Coltin Anderson also had an assist for the Wildcats.

McCade Brown had four first-half saves in goal for West while Ethan Stroyan had four second-half saves. The Wildcats played without injured defender Matt Lage.

"We had some tough games over the weekend," said West coach Val Walker. "We simply ran out of gas. We were emotionally and physically spent."

Cornerstone tops Mount Pulaski: Cornerstone received goals from four players in a 4-0 win over host Mount Pulaski.

Clay Damkoehler, Kole Damkoehler, James Scott and Brian Matipa scored for the Cyclones (5-4). Alec Anderson, Moses Kabuswe and Webby Phiri were credited with assists. Cornerstone outshot the Hilltoppers, 11-1.

BHS takes tumble: Bloomington (1-6) fell at Peoria Richwoods, 2-1, as its losing streak extended to six matches. Djibril Thiam of BHS tied the game at 1-1 in the first half off an assist from Noah Masemore.

BHS goalie Xander Bosquez made six saves as the Purple Raiders were outshot, 8-6. BHS was without the injured Ryan Flynn (leg) and Brian Jome (concussion).

Spencer Wagner and Mark Jones scored for Richwoods.

VOLLEYBALL

U High loses: University High lost for the first time in Central State Eight Conference play, dropping a 25-15, 25-22 decision to Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin at Normal.

Macy Tongate led the Pioneers (7-4, 2-1) with four kills, while Kimmy Sendelbach added four digs and Alexis Enos 11 assists.

Sacred Heart-Griffin remained unbeaten at 6-0 overall and improved to 3-0 in the league.

Notre Dame edges Central: Junior middle hitter Morgan Koch had 10 kills and two blocks for Central Catholic, but Peoria Notre Dame prevailed in a 26-24, 20-25, 25-10 nonconference decision over the Saints at Bloomington.

Kate Moorman-Wolfe added 28 assists and Emily Butt 17 digs for the Saints (5-5).

Eureka tops Lexington: Hailey Flowers had 11 kills and one block for Eureka (7-1, 1-0) in a 25-22, 20-25, 25-15 victory at Lexington. Courtney Heffren chipped in 15 digs while Maddie McCunn had 17 assists.

Lexington's Jayden Standish had 10 kills and 12 digs while Emma White added 26 assists.

Tri-Valley tops Blue Ridge: Iowa-recruit Hannah Clayton had eight kills, two blocks and three aces for Tri-Valley (2-0, 1-0) in a 25-16, 25-16 victory over Blue Ridge at Downs. Lauren Gilmore provided 19 assists while Hannah Rudsinski had 12 digs.

Blue Ridge (6-1, 1-1) received six kills from Maddy Hopkins, 13 digs from Hannah Brackenoff and eight assists from Avery Fisher.

Fieldcrest derails LeRoy: Emma Petersen's eight kills led Fieldcrest (4-3, 1-0) to a 25-19, 25-20 victory at LeRoy (1-3, 0-1). Lexi Jochums had 11 assists and two aces while Callie Dye provided eight digs.

LeRoy received 16 digs, four aces and 11 service points from Mack Kern. Meg Matlock added four assists.

Calvary comes out on top: Calvary Christian (2-6) received nine kills and eight digs from Rebecca Orns in a 25-18, 25-22 victory at Urbana Uni High. Mackenzie Sturgill added six kills and five aces while Jacy Wingate had six kills and 11 assists.

Olympia falls: Rose McManaman had 14 kills while Emme Olson and Kalli Terrell each contributed 21 digs, but Olympia dropped an 18-25, 28-26, 25-22 decision to IVC at Chillicothe. Jaci Terrell dished out 21 assists for the Spartans.

Mool, EPG win: Madi Funk had 14 kills and Ashlyn Mool had nine kills, four blocks and 15 digs to help El Paso-Gridley to a 25-15, 25-17 Heart of Illinois Conference win over Ridgeview at El Paso. Cheyenne Carr 24 assists for the Titans (4-0, 1-0).

Maya Tinsley had four kills and River Rosales six digs for Ridgeview (2-5, 0-2).

Dee-Mack tips Tremont: Carson Smalley's 12 kills and Morgan Burr's 18 assists helped Deer Creek-Mackinaw (1-1, 1-0) to a 25-18, 28-26 win over host Tremont. Violet Thompson had eight assists and five kills for the Turks (5-2, 0-1).

Flanagan prevails: Liberty Vollmer and Regan Reed each had four kills and a block as Flanagan-Cornell (7-4-1, 1-0) defeated GCMS, 25-16, 25-12 in an HOIC match at Flanagan. Madelyn Forney had 10 assists and eight service points for Flanagan. Dani Eckerty contributed nine digs and Jessica Freehill had five kills for GCMS (1-4, 1-2).

Heyworth holds off Fisher: Amber Tomlin had three aces and 18 assists for Heyworth in a 25-22, 25-11 HOIC win over host Fisher. Allyson Jamison added six kills and five digs for the Hornets. Shelbee Owens led the Bunnies with five kills and two blocks while Casey Wagner contributed seven digs. 

Hartem triumphs: Hartsburg-Emden defeated visiting Lewistown, 25-12, 25-17. Anna Hayes had 15 kills for the Stags (7-1) while Grace Beekman contributed 11 assists and Lexi Barry eight digs.

Streator loses: Taylor Hoskins' 13 assists weren't enough as Streator lost to Sandwich, 25-16, 25-17. Natali Haynes added six kills and Sam Goerne nine digs for the Bulldogs.

Mount Pulaski edges Warrensburg: Skylar Hayes had 15 kills and 21 digs to lead host Mount Pulaski to a 24-26, 25-22, 25-18 victory over Warrensburg-Latham. Abigail Fitzpatrick and Savanah Moore added 26 and 24 digs respectively.

Clinton falls: Host Clinton lost, 22-25, 25-13, 25-21, to Tolono Unity (5-5).

The Maroons watched Alyssa Saulsbery notch seven kills and four blocks while Delaney Woodbury had 17 assists. Raymi Dial chipped in 24 digs.

Cornerstone loses: Cornerstone dropped a three-set decision at Greenview, losing 25-18, 21-25, 25-15.
