In the second half, Mason Wittman and Nathan Clay scored for the Pioneers, who outshot their guest, 8-7. Jett Jenkins added an assist.
Christian Lopez made five saves for U High, but couldn't stop Morton scorers Alec Bazzetta and Mustafa Bakirdan.
Central Catholic wins: Host Central Catholic (2-0) received six kills from Sarah Brady in a 25-13, 25-23 victory over Decatur MacArthur.
Morgan Koch added five kills and three blocks for the Saints while Kate Moorman-Wolfe notched 13 assists. Mallory Bergbower provided eight digs, eight service points and two aces.
Purple Raiders top Washington: Leah Anderson contributed eight kills and Grace Sanders added 10 digs as host Bloomington defeated Washington, 25-13, 25-21. Corinna Jones had 22 assists for BHS (2-0).
Calvary triumphs: Jacy Wingate had five kills, Grace Bursack five assists and Rebecca Orns five digs as visiting Calvary Christian (1-1) defeated DeLand-Weldon, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22.
Eureka tops Olympia: Lauren Asmus had seven kills, Courtney Heffren eight digs and Maddie McCunn 12 assists for defending Class 2A state champion Eureka in a 25-17, 25-23 victory over host Olympia in the season-opener for both teams.
Dani Litwiller paced the Spartans with six kills while Jaci Terrell chipped in 20 assists and eight digs. Kayla Miller added eight service points and three blocks.
Lincoln prevails: Tearaney Eads notched eight kills for season-opening Lincoln in a 25-22, 25-18 victory at Champaign Centennial. Morgan Lolling added 20 assists and six service points for the Railsplitters, who received eight digs from Kaelyn Froebe.
Tremont victorious: Violet Thompson had three aces and five assists as host Tremont opened its season with a 25-18, 25-22 win over Delavan.
Blue Ridge rolls in opener: Maddy Hopkins had seven kills and nine service points while Avery Fisher handed out 14 assists as Blue Ridge defeated GCMS, 25-10, 25-7, at Farmer City. Hannah Brackenhoff chipped in 10 digs and three aces for the Knights.
GCMS got 10 digs from Dani Eckerty.
White, Payne lead Lexington: Emma White had 21 assists and Raelyn Payne 11 digs as host Lexington posted a 25-16, 25-14 win over Roanoke-Benson. Jayden Standish notched seven kills for the Minutemen (1-0).
Elly Sauder had six assists and three service points for Roanoke-Benson.
Cornerstone wins: Cornerstone overcame a 24-19 game one deficit to rally for a 28-26, 25-21 victory over Urbana Uni-High at Bloomington. Alayna Schippert served seven aces, Ryan Sale had three kills and Baillie Killian five assists for Cornerstone.
Dwight falls: Dwight (1-2) lost to visiting Reed-Custer, 12-25, 25-17, 25-21.
