NORMAL — The Normal CornBelters have completed a trade with the Hawaii Stars of the independent North American Baseball League for outfielder Keoni Manago. In return, the Stars will receive a player to be named later.

“Keoni’s a tough, hard-nose player that gets after it every game,” said Player Personnel Director Nick Belmonte. “His style of play reminds me a lot of Shane Victorino, a fellow Hawaiian. He didn’t make an error all of last season, and he’ll provide us with versatility in our batting order.”

Keoni was named a NAL North Division All-Star this summer in his first professional season. He batted .333 with 41 hits, 17 RBI and eight doubles. He played college baseball at Hawaii Hilo, where he hit .394 with 65 hits, 25 RBI and 14 doubles as a senior.
